Leadville Weekend – coming June 2023

At the beginning of each summer, Jewish Congregations throughout the Colorado Rockies meet in Leadville for a shared Shabbat and Hebrew Cemetery clean-up. Dating back to the 1880’s, the Leadville area was home to over 300 Jewish people, including David May of the May Company Corporation, and the Guggenheims. Now, the reconstructed synagogue is home to a museum rich with artifacts and beautiful memoirs. B’nai Vail members participate in a June clean-up day at the Hebrew Cemetery to honor 138 Jewish souls buried there. Led by the Denver Chapter of B’nai Brith, volunteers clear weeds, straighten markers, and share in a memorial service led by Rabbi Newman.

Guests/Speakers/Performers

Our congregation hosts a variety of guests as performers, lecturers or guest clergy. We honor our B’nai Vail community with learning and entertainment opportunities. Upcoming guests are posted on the calendar pages, and announced in the weekly newsletters. Donations to enhance these events are greatly appreciated.
