The goal of the B’nai Vail Religious School is to help children foster love for Jewish knowledge and traditions, to strengthen faith in God, to learn lessons of the Torah and to build identity with the Jewish world community.
Children ages pre-kindergarten through Bar/Bat Mitzvah meet at the Edwards Interfaith Chapel on Sundays (August/September through November) from 9:00-10:45 am and monthly “off site” January through April. Activities are geared for all levels of Jewish experience and follow a curriculum that explores holiday traditions, Bible stories, Jewish values, prayer, study of Israel, basic Hebrew, singing, Israeli dance, and a personal relationship with God. Teachers develop original, creative lessons to impart a love for Jewish life and community.
Hebrew School
B’nai Vail Hebrew Studies extend from the Religious School Sunday experience at the age of 10 or fifth grade. Students meet on Thursday evenings to learn to read, write and speak Hebrew in preparation for Bar/Bat Mitzvah study. All Bar/Bat Mitzvah candidates are required to participate in this learning opportunity.
